LOVE STREET - The tragic love story of Jim Morrison
In the year of the 50th anniversary of the debut of The Doors with Elektra Records, Greg Fitch and the Livia Berté will give their interpretation of Jim and Pamela's love story in this new play.
Many writers have spoken about the unbelievable life of "The Lizard King" singer and of the band, that in the 70's broke all the rules of music and law, but this play takes a fresh and unexplored point of view.
The story that Jim had with his red-head Fairy Queen is not well document. We explore a part of this story that makes Jim more human. It influenced him in the same drastic way shamanism did and came to a tragic, romantic ending that needs to be remembered.
Love, shamanism and life on the edge: those are the three basic ingredients of this exciting and captivating new play.

Eight other actors will make the "70's" alive again: Emma Read as Mirandi; Benito Marlay as Ray Manzareck; Greg Fitch as Bill Siddons; Cheryl Prince as Patricia Kennealy; Sara Laratro as Nico; Robert Bingham as John Densmore; Jack Coleby as Robby Krieger; Sarah Evans as the Journalist.
After the show the Underdog will host a 70's party with music, drinks and psychedelic lights. The audience are very welcome to stay after the show and enjoy the free and empowering atmosphere of the hippie days.

L'angolo della poesia
Giovedì 27 luglio, a Pesaro, serata dedicata all'opera poetica di Jim Morrison.
Nell'ambito della rassegna "L'angolo della poesia", presenterò in forma di reading buona parte dei contenuti poetici presenti nell'album postumo "An American Prayer": una versione estesa della più nota composizione poetica di Morrison che dà nome all'album, l'omonima "An American Prayer", e la versione integrale di "Dawn's Higway", il monologo nel quale Jim racconta l'incidente stradale che coinvolse un gruppo di indiani, esperienza di cui fu testimone da bambino e che secondo il produttore dei Doors, Paul Rothchild, "fu il punto di svolta della sua esistenza".

Biblioteca Municipal de Ponte de Lima recorda Jim Morrison

Volvidos 46 anos sobre a morte de Jim Morrison – o irreverente vocalista da banda de culto The Doors -, a Biblioteca Municipal de Ponte de Lima (BMPL) recorda o essencial da vida e obra de um dos mais emblemáticos artistas da segunda metade do século XX.
Ao longo dos meses de julho e agosto, utilizadores e visitantes poderão apreciar um painel biográfico, patente na Sala de Audiovisuais, que procura apresentar uma breve contextualização sociocultural do efervescente período em que Jim Morrison se movimentou, descrever o percurso do jovem que amava as palavras e tentava, através delas, revolver consciências e revisitar a ascensão meteórica de um inovador grupo de rock que, em pouco tempo, se transformou num dos maiores fenómenos musicais de sempre.
Além do painel, a BMPL disponibiliza um livreto com informações biográficas e discográficas e a coletânea “The very best of The Doors” lançada em 2007.
Venha recordar Jim Morrison, o emblemático poeta do rock, e visite a Sala de Audiovisuais.

- "Conf'errance" et video de Micheline SIMON - Centre Culturel L'Ellipse à Moëlan-sur-Mer à 11h00 - La "conf'errance" tient peut-être autant de la conférence que de la configuration, c'est-à-dire qu'il s'agit de donner forme à l'errance d'un propos, afin de pouvoir le partager. Jim MORRISON a traversé rapidement une période d'une grande intensité tant sociale que culturelle de l'histoire des Etats-Unis d'abord, mais aussi du monde. En se basant sur des éléments biographiques et des dates clés de la vie de MORRISON, cette "conf'errance" tentera de créer des rapprochements, des correspondances, des éclairages sur la trajectoire d'un artiste phare (C'est un phare allumé sur mille citadelles/Un appel de chasseurs perdus dans les grands bois !, comme le dit Baudelaire) et sa confrontation à une époque. Pour cela seront convoqués d'autres artistes et événements qui eux aussi font date dans l'agitation de l'histoire.
